Advance numerical methods for rock mechanics

There exist many numerical methods, each of them has its ownadvantages and disadvantages, a further development on numericalmethod is necessary.

The future for numerical method are:a)Multi-scale model to link micro structure with macroscopicmechanical behavior of rock.b) Multi-physics model to capture the response of rock under complexphysical field conditions, e.g. fluid flow, chemical and radioactiveconditions.c) High Performance Computing (HPC) to model large scale and longterm problems.
